Flights are typically scheduled May through November twice a day, at sunrise and 2-3 hours before sunset, wind- and weather-permitting. Flights last 45 minutes to an hour but may vary depending on the availability of landing sites.
After the flight, our pilot shares the history of ballooning with the new aeronauts and everyone enjoys a champagne (or sparkling juice) toast to commemorate the flight. There’s no better way to start or end your day!

Bring Us to Your Next Event
We can also do tethers! We have extensive experience with a variety of special events, including tethered balloon rides, school demonstrations, marriage proposals, weddings, and festival entertainment. Balloon tether events are a great way to entertain crowds, draw more attention to your event, or promote your business or special occasion. During a tether, the balloon is secured to the ground and is able to float 40-80 feet above the ground, giving passengers the sensation of flying.
Tether events cost $1,500 per hour, with a minimum two-hour commitment. A signed contract is required. Call us at 814-234-5986 to discuss your event.
FAQ
Sometimes we fly at tree top altitude and other times we fly much higher, sometimes up to 3,000 feet or higher.
Because we are flying at the same speed as the wind, you will not experience the sensation of wind while in the balloon. Theoretically, you could hold a lit candle while in the basket and the flame would not go out.
The temperature in the basket is basically the same as when you’re on the ground. The temperature difference is about 3½°F cooler for every 1,000 feet.
We fly at sunrise and 2-3 hours before sunset. Balloons do not fly in rain, fog, snow or wind above 6 mph. These and many other conditions can affect the decision to fly or not to fly and are considered to ensure a safe flight for all.
Before each flight, the pilot calls flight service for a full weather briefing. This enables him to very carefully determine any weather patterns that could be dangerous. Flights have been canceled due to fog or fast-moving storms.
The balloon lands in fields, yards, farms, parking lots, and sometimes a driveway or two. Every effort is made to secure landowner permission prior to landing.
A recovery vehicle with the trailer will always follow the balloon during the flight. The crew will help to pack the balloon up and will accompany the pilot, crew and passengers back to home base.
Due to the inherent risks associated with ballooning, people with the following conditions may be unable to enjoy the sport. Please speak to the pilot when you schedule your flight.
- Pregnancy
- Back injury
- Joint replacement
- Osteoporosis
- Recent surgery
- Broken/injured limbs
- Inability to stand for extended periods or reliance on a walker or cane
- Reliance on oxygen-breathing equipment
